Cuban wrestler Mijaín López wins gold in the Men's Greco-Roman 130 kg event at the Paris Olympics, making history as the first athlete to win gold in the same event at five consecutive Olympic Games and the first wrestler to win five gold medals. After defeating Yasmani Acosta Fernandez of Chile 6-0, López retires, placing his shoes in the center of the mat, marking the end of his illustrious career.

Maduro claims his opponents use X to create political instability and demands the company present its documents within 10 days. This move is part of Maduro's ongoing efforts to control information sharing in the country.

For the first time in Summer Olympic history for Uzbekistan, an a lady taekwondo athlete, Svetlana Osipova, wins a medal. Competing in the +67 kg category, she earns a silver medal after narrowly losing to France's Althéa Laurin in the final. Before the final, Osipova defeated strong opponents from Great Britain and South Korea. Uzbekistan's taekwondo team leaves the Paris Olympics with two medals, including Ulugbek Rashidov's gold in the men's -68 kg category.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian speaks with European Council President Charles Michel, blaming the EU for the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
