Around 150 TikTok employees in Berlin are on strike after parent company ByteDance announced plans to replace staff with AI, according to trade union ver.di. The affected roles include the entire “Trust and Safety” content moderation team and the Live department handling creator outreach. Ver.di says ByteDance is using China-developed AI models to take over these roles and has refused to engage in negotiations with workers over the job cuts.
