A U.K. court sentences Zhimin Qian, a 47-year-old Chinese “cryptoqueen,” to over 11 years in prison after she is found with £5 billion ($6.6 billion) in Bitcoin tied to a massive Ponzi scheme. Police recover 61,000 Bitcoin, the largest crypto seizure in Britain. Qian defrauds 128,000 people in China between 2014 and 2017 before fleeing to the U.K. under a fake identity, where she lives lavishly while attempting to convert her illicit assets.
