US longest-ever government shutdown ends...
US President Donald Trump signs a bill ending the nation’s longest-ever government shutdown, now in its 43rd day. The House passes the measure 222–209, with six Democrats joining Republicans, after the Senate approved it earlier in the week. The shutdown has left thousands of federal workers unpaid, furloughed, or laid off, and stalled numerous government programs and agencies. Trump gives final approval in the Oval Office, officially restoring government funding.
