Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso, announced their withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC), denouncing it as a tool of “neo-colonialist repression.” The three nations, allied under the Alliance of Sahel States, have distanced themselves from Western powers and aligned more closely with Russia. In their joint statement, they accused the ICC of failing to address major atrocities and pledged to establish their own mechanisms for peace and justice. Withdrawal takes effect in one year.
