India and China have reached a significant agreement to resolve their border standoff, ongoing since the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that after several rounds of talks, both nations have agreed to disengage from contentious areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The breakthrough comes as both sides commit to easing tensions through coordinated efforts in patrolling the LAC.

The FBI is investigating the unauthorized release of classified documents detailing Israel’s potential retaliatory plans against Iran. The documents, linked to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency, reveal Israel's military preparations following Iran’s ballistic missile attack on October 1. First appearing on Telegram, the documents quickly circulated among channels popular with Iranians. White House spokesperson John Kirby said officials are unsure if the leak was due to hacking but have no evidence of further document exposure.

Germany is facing a significant decline in births, particularly in eastern regions, according to the ifo Institute. Factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and high inflation have caused many young families to delay having children. Joachim Ragnitz of the ifo Institute noted the birth rate has dropped to 1.35 children per woman in 2023, down from 1.58 in 2021. A declining population of women aged 27-36, who contribute most to births, further compounds the issue. Vladimir Putin at the Brics summit, advocates for payments between BRIC countries currencies using the same financial system to strengthen ties between BRIC Countries. Speaking in Kazan, Putin notes that 95% of Russia-China trade now uses rubles and yuan where as Russia is also developing an infrastructure to bypass the Swift system.This initiatives by BRICS Countries is seen as an alternative financial system.

Tropical Storm Trami has killed at least 76 people in the Philippines, with landslides and flooding displacing nearly 320,000 residents. In Batangas province, 47 people died, mostly in landslides, while 17 remain missing. The storm, which brought heavy rains equivalent to one to two months' worth in 24 hours, left communities submerged in flash floods. As Trami exits the Philippines, forecasters warn it may reverse course next week due to high-pressure winds in the South China Sea.

Bulgaria holds early parliamentary elections on Sunday, the seventh in just over three years. This election follows June’s failed attempt to form a cabinet, forcing a return to the polls for the 240-seat National Assembly.
